Episode 7: Shadows of the Past

Brief Synopsis

Jonathan tracks down the cult of demons who murdered his squad, when a former squadmate he'd thought dead shows up with cryptic information. After doing a great deal of research and reconnaisance, Jonathan takes his leave of the party, leaving behind an envelope containing his will and instructions, and the dog tags of his group. He discovers the lair of the cult in an old warehouse complex just outside the city and makes his move to infiltrate it, sending video and audiotaped survaillence to both the gang and the Initiative. Unfortunately, for Jonathan, the enemy has far greater numbers than he. He's overcome and finds himself face to face with the man who sold out his party, and the answers to his questions are more painful than the questions themselves. John was sold out by his staff sargeant, who was like a father to him, but who has now undergone the Adam treatment. At the Sargeant's side is a vampire possessing a gem of Amarra. Fortunately for John, the cavalry arrives in the nick of time to save his sorry butt in the form of the Initiative, who take down the Adamized Sargeant and return to John his true identity along with an honorable discharge from the organization.

Quotes of the Week

Sargeant: It was a mistake to break my plans, John.
John: Well, I guess you shouldn't have made them out of glass then, should you?

Notable Moments

Trying to infiltrate the cult's lair, John slips and falls off of a catwalk, drawing far too much attention to himself.

John sucks up 3 shots from Initiative-issue taser rifles before finally going down.

Unable to damage the vampire, John once again resorts to the old, "kick in the nads" routine, which as always works like a charm.

John spits in the face of both a powerful vampire, and his ex-sargeant who is now a human/demon/cyborg hybrid.

The cyborg-thing takes six shots from John's 9mm to the head and doesn't even blink.

The Initiative bursts in, all "Where Eagles Dare"-ish and saves the day.

John gets debriefed by Agent Riley Finn.
